We're Hiring!
Field Crew
About The Position:
Join the Field Crew at Woodside Farms and enjoy the benefits of working outdoors on a small, Certified Naturally Grown produce farm. As part of the field crew, you will be expected to execute all tasks related to the daily, weekly, and seasonal operations of the farm, including, but not limited to:
-
Soil Work / Bed Shaping - getting beds ready for planting as well as getting rid of old plant material once a crop is finished.
-
Planting - direct sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, feeding and nourishing the plants as they grow.
-
Harvest - picking crops per standards on a daily/weekly basis and getting them ready for washing, packing, and selling at our on-site Farm Stand and to our growing list of wholesale customers.
-
Watering - hand watering, managing irrigation systems, etc.
-
Field Care - managing row covers during the cold months and shade cover during the hot months; making sure weeds are down and working to make sure the entire farm appears tidy (some lawn maintenance, orchard maintenance, driveway, and infrastructure maintenance required)
Beyond standard farming tasks, we also have a robust volunteer program. All employees are expected to be able to work with volunteers on a regular basis, and should expect this as a substantial part of the job.
We have part-time and full-time shifts available and are looking for folks with a love of the outdoors, an affinity for hard work, and a willingness to learn our production system. You do not need to have farming experience, though some background in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, etc. would be helpful.
Pay starts at $14 / hour, more for experienced individuals. All employees receive Farm Credits to use at our on-site farm store. All positions are seasonal, but there is an opportunity to advance within the organization to full time salaried with benefits positions starting in Winter 2023 / 2024, so any individuals looking for a long term farming job, please consider applying here!
Start Date - March 1, April 1, May 1
